Lakshmi Paintings
In Hinduism, Goddess Lakshmi is recognized as wealth, luxury, fortune, purity, beauty, etc. She is divine consort of lord Vishnu and in Hinduism believed that Goddess Lakshmi is a kind of money as money is phase of Lakshmi. The word Lakshmi is derived from Sanskrit word Lakshya, Lakshya meaning target or goal.

The story of Lakshmi`s birth begins when the Devas (minor gods) were in a race against the Asuras (demons) to obtain amrit (the nectar of immorality). The Devas consulted Vishnu who was on earth as Kurma, a tortoise. They decided they would churn the oceans for the amrit.
