Mewar Paintings
From the point of view of historical traditions in Rajasthani painting (Rajasthani Painting is a style of Indian painting) the Mewar School (Part of Rajasthani painting) occupies first place. The artistic heritage of medpat, the land of Guhil rulers, was a perennial source of inspiration for ancient and other schools of art. Paintings of Mewar earned wide publicity among other styles and substyles, and paintings of the Udaipur, Nathdwara and devgarh styles are immortal legacies of this school. One of the largest ateliers in Rajasthan was to be found in Udaipur where, from the beginning of the 17th century till the end of the 19th, there has been an uninterrupted progression in miniature art.
