Christianity founded by Jesus Christ now commands the largest following in the world. Christ was born in B.C. 4 in Judaea. He started preaching about the kingdom of God when he was thirty. His activities roused the opposition of the Jewish high priests who accused him of blasphemy.

Protestantism broke up the Roman Church, while in the Eastern Churches, many communities like the Armenians, Ethiopians, Russians and Italians set up their own Patriarchies.
